IRE History | The Arizona Project

THE ARIZONA PROJECT by the IRE also known as:
INVESTIGATIVE REPORTERS and EDITORS

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More about the Arizona Project
The Arizona Republic published a package of stories, photos and audio in remembrance of the 30th anniversary of the bombing that killed reporter Don Bolles.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don Bolles, an investigative reporter for the Arizona Republic, was fatally injured when his car was bombed on June 2,1976, as a reprisal for his expose of land fraud activies. The Arizona Project is the story of how a unique team of reporters from diverse, and ofte competing, newpapers, calling themselves the Investigative Reporters and Editors, undertook the project of exposing crime and corruption in Arizona in retaliation for the brutal murder of Bolles.

This is the only account that is apt to emerge for some time - perhaps ever - of the Team's work. It is witten by Michael F. Wendland, a reporter for the Detroit News. This first behind the scenes story of the project is drawn from Wendland's own notes and Memory, as well as diaries, memoranda, tape recordings, and film provided him by other key reporters on the project.

A history of the Hensley Beer Empire, inherited by Cindy Hensley, wife of John McCain will be found within the pages of this report as part of the Kemper Marley Empire in Arizona.

Most people mistakenly believe John McCain will make a good President.

Just Remember :

Beliefs can be manipulated.
Only knowledge is dangerous!
